Avocado and Rose body butter

My favourite body lotion ever is an Avocado cream. It goes on smoothly and hydrates the skin, leaving it soft and amazing. The only issue with this cream is that it comes from Israel, a far distance to travel for some body lotion! So this week, I decided to try and recreate this amazing lotion. After searching the internet, I decided to make a body butter. I changed the ingredients to suit my needs and added rose for an extra amazing smell. This is the recipe I turned out with.

Ingredients:
1 Vitamin E capsule
2 tbs Cocoa Butter
4 drops rose essential oil
1 tbs Coconut oil
1 tbs ripe Avocado
1 tbs Avocado oil

VARIATIONS: The vitamin oil is not essential, but lengthens the shelf life of the body butter. Avocado oil can be replaced with any other vegetable oil, I think almond oil could work perfectly. Also, any essential oils can be used in place of the rose oil, for example lavender would smell great.

Directions:

Melt the Cocoa butter and Coconut oil together over a double boiler. I didn't own a double boiler, so I made a makeshift one. Learn how to make one here. Once our products had completely melted, we were left with a small amount of a tacky white substance that wouldn't melt. Don't worry if the same happens for you, as when the mixture is beaten, the substance is mixed in and not an issue.
Leave the newly formed liquid to sit for 5-10 minutes to cool down, or just until it's less than 30ÂșC. and mash the avocado into a smooth paste.
Add the Avocado, essential oil and vitamin E into the mixture.

Beat the mixture until it is thick and forms small stiff peaks. This may take 5-10 minutes, but do not beat it to the stage that it becomes crummy!
Transfer the body butter into a container of your choice. I used an old jar, and redecorated it using paper and tape.

There you go! My ending result was a body butter that honestly did leave my skin feeling incredibly soft, and smelt divine. I hope it works out just as well for you!
