365 Things I Love About You

I have no money, so basically if you're my friend you're going to get a homemade present. I'm not indie, I'm broke. This present is for my mothers birthday, she's really into presents with feelings. This project definitely isn't something for anyone with a short attention span, it's not difficult but its time consuming, so cancel your social commitments (assuming you have any) and quit your job, because you're in for the long haul.

What you will need -  a jar or tin, lots of paper or cardboard, ruler, pencil, coloured pens, tape, scissors and twine or ribbon (optional: I used it as a decorative element)

1. Rule up lots (and lots) of rectangles to cut out, I measured mine at 40mm x 60mm but the size is up to you.

TIP: If you want to make the project a little bit more unique and fun, try cutting all different shapes, like hearts and stars, it might take longer but it would look amazing!

2. Once you have a substantial amount of cardboard rectangles, start writing your messages. Write a single message on each piece, obviously you're supposed to write something that you love about that person on each piece but I ran out of things to love at about the 200 mark so I just started writing 'I love you' in other languages and drawing love hearts and little pictures of my mum and I (yeah, I'm a pretty pathetic daughter)

3. Fold the rectangles that have messages in half and stick them together at the halfway mark with the tape you have (I got my tape from Typo, but any tape will work fine).

4. Chuck them all into your mason jar and count them as you go. It will probably take a fair while to get to 365 pieces of cardboard but stick to it!

  1. This is so cute! It reminds me of the jars that you put good things that happened in 2013 in then on new years eve you read them all. I like how you use washi tape it adds colour to the dull card and i like how it seals in so you really fee like you are opening something on new years eve/ the birthday!
